    SKU: CHODSYS

The Chod System is designed to create a completely safe helicopter setup, specifically for use with our Hawser Leadcore and similar diameter leader materials such as our Fused Fluorocarbon Leaders. This advanced system prioritizes fish safety, ensuring that in the unfortunate event of a mainline break above the leader knot, the hook link can detach freely, leaving the fish with nothing but the short trace, rather than the risk of dragging a leader—or worse, a lead—around the lake.

Many conventional leadcore helicopter setups, even the safer ones, have historically faced a common issue: weed and debris accumulation around the knot, which can prevent rubber beads from pulling over it, ultimately trapping the hook link and increasing the risk of a tethered fish. However, the Chod System eliminates this problem with a smartly designed slotted bead that detaches entirely when needed. During normal use and casting, the bead is held securely in place by a retaining rubber sleeve, but in the event of pressure from a hooked fish or line breakage, the bead is released, allowing it to slide off the leader completely. This ensures that the size 11 Flexi Swivel—which holds the hook link—can easily pass over any leadcore knot or splice, guaranteeing a completely safe and fish-friendly setup.

At the lead end, a Stopper Bead serves as a shock buffer, completing the system and ensuring smooth performance. The entire Chod System is easy to fit onto your leader and works seamlessly with both chod rigs and traditional helicopter setups, providing versatility, efficiency, and peace of mind for anglers who prioritize both performance and fish safety.
